Winemaker’s Comments

This wine is deep ruby in color. The  nose  opens  with  the  classic  red  fruit,  such  as  strawberries  and  wild  raspberries, typical of this noble variety. Notes of vanilla and spices intermingle subtly with a delicate minerality, making this a delightful and complex wine. The  mouth  reveals  intense,  fruity  flavors  and  tannins  which  are  ripe,  well-rounded and integrated into the elegant structure. Long in the finish. The French oak frames the expressiveness of this distinctive and elegant wine.

Heru Pinot Noir 2017

This  wine  can  be  kept  for  more  than  8  years  if  stored  correctly.

Brilliant ruby-red. Lively spice- and mineral-tinged raspberry and cherry aromas show very good clarity and hints of vanilla and cola. Sweet, juicy and focused on the palate, offering pliant red fruit, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that are sharpened by white pepper and smoky mineral flourishes. Expands and deepens with aeration while also showing very good vivacity and focus. Gently sweet, spicy and seamless on the impressively persistent finish, which shows subtle tannins and an echo of peppery spices.

The 2014 Herú Pinot Noir had some medicinal aromas intermixed with some earthy notes, hints of blood oranges and cured meat. It’s produced with fruit from a three-hectare vineyard in Casablanca and fermented in open top vats. It matured in French barriques for 14 months. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh sensation. 5,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2015.
